Soy Story

I have been working with Soy Wax for many years and have learned so much about this Natural Wax.

My wax of choice is often difficult to work with as it is so pure that it is Volatile. Just like living things, Soy Wax is affected by the elements and the environment.

You may have noticed that some Candles you've bought have a frosting around the edges. This is very common, not only in Soy but other waxes. This is just a reaction to the change in environment and does not affect the Integrity of the Candle.

Making good Candles takes a lot of practice and patience.

I make my candles mostly when I am home alone, or if that isn't possible avoid distraction at the crucial points.

I continue to do everything myself, from melting the wax, cleaning and setting up my jars with the right wick size and Printing my own Labels. It is a lot of work but oh so satisfying! I watch over them while they are setting like a Mother Hen.

Mindfulness, a word we hadn't heard of a Decade ago. Trying to practice it when you want to is often difficult to do. When I'm making Candles or any of my craft I am 'Practicing Mindfulness' I am in the moment.
